Lisa Cope and Janice Clark, the co-owners of SIMPLY DIVINE INTERIORS were proud to have been designated as the design firm for the Living Room in Westover Hills Oxford Arts Alliance's Show House 2013. We are delighted to be working with the OxAA again and meeting everyone involved. Here is a brief outline of some of the changes we have made to enhance the room.

Design Plan- Overall, the living room is the room that initiates your first time guests as to "who you are" and what feeling you want your guests to have about you. It is the room which most personally reflects your lifestyle and personality. We wanted this room to reflect the gracious pedigree of the Greenville Delaware neighborhood with all of the qualities that the name "Westover Hills" has been known for.

Since 1927 this home has probably hosted a multitude of lovely events including elegant cocktail parties, formal celebrations, and well heeled charity events. We expect these socialite events to continue happening in this space but with an updated and fresh new Glamorous Hollywood look! Our plan was designed to evoke a fresh modern look, but also allowing an "homage" to the fabulous old "Downton Abby" English Tudor Style. In order to expedite our plans for this room, we made a quite a few additions in order to enhance the look. We feel these changes greatly increase the value of the overall home for resale. Below is the description and strategy on how we brought about this new look.

Once again The Ceiling offered a fifth wall for decoration and so we added a Fabulous semi flush Crystal chandelier in the center of the room. This not only illuminates the room's qualities but also adds a dramatic flair to the already inviting space. The four small swivel flush mounts flood the room with soft lighting. The lights show off the fabulous new French moldings that we added to the surroundings.

Millwork, Wall covering, and Furniture
The Tudor Style of this home has been nicely preserved on the outside and we have added to its old world flavor by building in crown molding and an over mantle on the fireplace area. Our plan was to give classic details that define the space by using French curved Finger moldings and an oval shaped OG molding around the center of the room. All of this is enhanced by warm colors, silk wall coverings and seaglass accents. All of our details meld the dramatic elements of Fire and Ice!

We were excited to show off a wonderful reflective grass-cloth wall covering on the existing calcified walls. The colors of the room include a warm mushroom Khaki with soft Russet undertones. They will beautifully coordinate with the Brunschwig and Fils Fabrics, and Belgian linen fabric, that we used for the furnishings, throughout the room. These fabrics are the perfect backdrop for the High end, Rich and dark mahogany Baker furniture we are using in the design to balance the symmetry. The overall feel is a dramatically soft and sophisticated look warranted by the surrounding district of Westover Hills!
